Since 2001, BDO has been New York City's most active private developer of student housing, delivering nearly 2,000 beds across five dormitory properties—more than any other private developer in the market. Our innovative, service-driven living spaces have established us as a trusted partner to some of the city's most prestigious institutions, including The New School, Marymount Manhattan College, and New York University. Today, our student housing portfolio exceeds $350 million in value.
In 2022, BDO expanded beyond New York City by acquiring and investing in value-add multifamily properties across high-growth markets in the Southeastern United States, including Virginia, Alabama, Florida, and Texas.
Our Portfolio
The firm’s portfolio includes award-winning, iconic high-rise luxury residential developments in New York City such as The Strand, The Dunhill, The Whitney, The Stanford, and the ultra-luxury 139 Wooster Street in SoHo’s Cast Iron Historic District. In total, BDO has developed over 2,000 luxury condominiums, co-ops, and rental residences. In the mid-1990’s, AIB Management Corporation was formed and has performed top-tier asset management of sponsor units on behalf of investors, partners, and the Bhatia Family with a cumulative value of $175 million.
